Jack Ma of Alibaba
Jack Ma of Alibaba broke new records to become China’s most generous philanthropist of all time, with a donation of Alibaba stock worth US$2.4 billion to a foundation set up together with Joe Tsai, Alibaba’s other main individual shareholder. Ma topped the recently released Hurun Rich List with a personal fortune of US$25bn, based on his remaining 6% holding in Alibaba, and a 46% share in Alipay. Not surprising really that Jack Ma won the Hurun Person of the Year Award, released on October 23, taking over from Wang Jianlin of Wanda.
